About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Fixed Asset and Inventory Accountant to join our dynamic growing team.
If you are an experienced Accountant, with a hands-on background in inventory and/or Fixed Assets, we want to hear from you. You will be the custodian of Inventory and Fixed Assets for the Company’s division which covers Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Philippines and Cyprus. The role is also required to work closely with the Reporting team in Perth and the Group Finance Team in the USA and Europe.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in the success of the Finance department and the business as a whole.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Custodianship of PHI Internationals Fixed Asset registers including additions, disposals, depreciation, and work in progress.
- Manage the accounting for inventory in line with PHI Internationals policies and procedures.
- Identify and analyse inventory variances to ensure that inventory is correctly valued in the financial statements.
- Manage the inventory obsolescence and slow-moving provisions work with the Fleet department to ensure that these provisions are reasonable.
- Recommendations to the Financial Controller regarding stock write offs.
- Provide expert knowledge, support, and training to PHI Internationals Internal Stakeholders in relation to inventory, capital expenditure and Fixed Assets.
- Preparation of monthly reconciliations of the inventory and Fixed Assets registers to the general ledger.
- Preparation of the annual Capital Expenditure Budget and reforecasts. Monitoring of the ongoing spend against budget and forecast. This would include the reconciliation of Work in Progress and ensuring correct rollover of unspent capital budgets from one financial year to the next.
- Ensure that all Capital and Inventory expenditure is in line with the Delegated Authority policies.
- Preparation of monthly GAAP inventory and Fixed Asset reports to the Parent in the USA.
- Management and coordination of Inventory and Fixed Asset cycle or ad-hoc counts as required.
- Prepare audit schedules in relation to Fixed Assetsand Inventory and assist the auditors in their inquiries.
- Financial Analysis as it pertains to inventory and Fixed Assets.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- 5-6 years financial accounting experience in a large audit or corporate entity environment (desirable).
- Previous experience in finance or accounting in the inventory/Fixed Asset areas for a sizable corporate entity.
- Experience working with integrated ERP and reporting systems – RAMCO and OneStream (desirable).
- CA qualification desirable not essential if you are able to demonstrate adequate knowledge and experience of relevant technical accounting requirements.
- Exposure to IFRS and GAAP – in relation to the financial treatment of Fixed Assetsand Inventory.
