Our client is seeking a safety focused, motivated and experienced Fleet Controller to join their team on a permanent basis.
The work cycle for this role will be Monday - Friday, with the option to work overtime. Which may include oscasional Saturday morning work.
Duties:
- Receiving and processing job requests from customers, ensuring accurate allocation within our system.
- Strategically assigning deliveries to drivers, prioritising time-sensitive tasks to meet strict deadlines.
- Collaborating with our administrative and operational team to troubleshoot and resolve any logistical issues that arise.
- Monitoring the maintenance and servicing schedules of our fleet vehicles, ensuring timely maintenance is conducted to keep our trucks operating at peak performance and safety standards.
- Optimising the utilisation and scheduling of our local fleet resources to maximise efficiency and productivity.
- Familiarising yourself with the wharf system to coordinate the timely removal of vehicles upon ship arrival.
- Ensuring all completed jobs are accurately prepared for invoicing, maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
- Building good relationships with our customers, showing our dedication to professionalism and integrity.
- Upholding our company's reputation for delivering exceptional customer service at every interaction.
Requirements:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Ideally have experience as a Fleet Controller in the shipping / container transport industry
- Knowledge of chain of responsibility and load restraint is beneficial, given our commitment to safety for both our team and the public.
Who Are You?
- Have good people skills including successfully dealing with different styles and nationalities;
- Understand and can work with the various styles of Truck Drivers;
- Be comfortable directing drivers in a respectful / cooperative way;
- Have good English skills (writing and speaking);
- Proficiency in computer skills, (e.g. ContainerChain, Maximus, MS Excel)
- Be methodical and with good attention to detail;
- Have an enthusiastic and positive style.
- Works in partnership with all team members.
