Form of workCooinda Village offers the opportunity for a motivated and suitably qualified person to work in our state of the art commercial kitchen, with the support of our enthusiastic catering staff.
Cooinda Village, Benalla's largest Aged Care facility provides freshly prepared food for over 80 residents daily.
Qualification and experience desired
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or Hospitality preferred and/or experience in aged care cooking
- Full COVID-19 vaccination status mandatory
- A ‘can do’ attitude
- Motivated with ability to use own initiative
- Able to work independently and as a member of a team
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
Key Results Required
- Assist in the preparation of meals that cater for the personal preferences, medical restrictions, and cultural differences of residents.
- Assist in the preparation of meals for special events or functions as determined by management or the Senior Cook.
- Prepare drinks and special fluids as necessary for individual residents.
- Prepare meal trays/tables with consideration for the resident’s individual needs and dignity.
- Assist with meal plating, ensuring the presentation, quality and temperature of food served is appropriate for the resident’s dietary requirements.
- Assist with the delivery of meals and the collection and dismantling of meal trolleys and trays.
- Participate is kitchen cleaning work, such as washing and cleaning equipment.
- Assist in other areas of food preparation as required.
- Take an active role in getting to know our residents and their families.
