Forensic Accountant Operations

Grade 9-10

Salary: From $120,859 to $133,183 per annum, Forensic Accountant Operations Grade 9-10, (excluding superannuation and leave loading)

About the NSW Crime Commission:

The NSW Crime Commission's purpose is to disrupt, reduce and prevent the incidence of organised crime and other serious crime and to pursue confiscation of the proceeds of crime in New South Wales. The Operations Division is responsible for conducting criminal and financial investigations under the leadership of the Executive Director Operations. The Operations Division is also responsible for the Commission's Strategic Intelligence capability, the provision of specialist investigative support services and providing advice and recommendations to Government in relation to minimising the impact of serious and organised crime on the NSW community.

About the role

The Forensic Accountant Operations forms an integral part of the Commission's Financial Investigations team. Working closely with Intelligence Analysts, the Forensic Accountant Operations is responsible for conducting concurrent financial investigations and providing specialist advice to support financial investigations in order to pursue the confiscation of criminal assets. You will play a key role in driving financial investigations through the application of a range of covert and overt investigative methods, investigative interviews and the interrogation of large and complex datasets. You will also be relied upon to make sound recommendations regarding the use of the Commission's coercive and non-coercive  information gathering powers.

Security Vetting

The Crime Commission Regulation 2022 under the Crime Commission Act 2012 stipulates that it is a condition of employment at the Commission that a member of staff obtain and maintain:

  1. a security clearance issued by the Commissioner, and
  2. a security clearance issued by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency that the Commissioner determines is necessary for the position
