This position Assists in delivery of the regional wood production plans to meet agreed targets in a safe, commercial and environmentally sound manner.This position is a great opportunity for both recent graduates and experienced professionals alike. For recent graduates, it offers a chance to gain valuable hands-on experience and launch a rewarding career in forestry. For experienced professionals, it provides the opportunity to contribute your skills and knowledge to a vital industry while working in a supportive and dynamic environment.This is a permanent, full-time position based at either our Derwent Park of Geeveston Office. The role will see the successful person spending their time between the field and office providing the successful applicant a great variety of work! Some intrastate travel will be required on occasion.In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve safe, commercially viable, and environmentally sound forest operations.
  • Develop and implement plans to meet wood supply targets, adhering to relevant legislation and forest certification standards.
  • Prepare Forest Practices Plans to ensure compliant and effective forestry operations.
  • Conduct audits and report on compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and maintain accurate forest information systems.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A Certificate IV in a relevant discipline or experience in a similar role.
  • Certificate II in Public Safety would be desirable (Firefighting Operations).
  • Forest Practices Officer Inspecting accreditation (or willingness to obtain it).
  • The ability to deliver commercial forestry practices and oversee contractor operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders.
  • A strong commitment to safety, the environment, and quality
