Forklift Operator & Store Person

Pohlmans Nursery are in need of a skilled Forklift Operator/Store Person to join our team.  If you're looking for a fast paced environment where you'll be kept busy and can make a real impact, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Position Overview

As a Forklift Operator/Store Person, you will be responsible for managing the flow of materials across our 60 hectare property ensuring that goods are accurately receipted in as well as efficiently distributing product to the various production areas.  This role requires someone who can handle a large workload, thrive in an environment with constantly changing priorities, and maintain a calm and considered approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Managing both inward and outward stock movements
• Maintaining accurate documentation/records
• Following up on any discrepancies that arise
• Efficiently moving raw/finished product around the nursery
• Movement and storage of product 
• Loading and unloading trucks
• Monitoring stock levels & conducting stocktakes
• Organising inventory
• Undertaking biosecurity inspections on vehicles as required
• Communicating effectively with Managers and Supervisors to ensure that everyone is informed of priorities, issues, and solutions

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Forklift Operator/Store Person or similar role
• Valid Forklift/High Risk Work Licence
• A sound understanding of safe work practices
• Ability to effectively manage a large workload and prioritise tasks in a fast-pace environment
• Adaptability to changing priorities and willingness to take on new challenges as they arise
• Strong problem-solving skills and a calm, considered approach to resolving issues
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Reliability and consistency with attendance, demonstrating a commitment to the role and the team
