The University of Adelaide College (UOAC) is seeking an Australian Studies/History teacher for its Foundation Studies Program (equivalent to SACE Stage 2). The ability to teach other subjects or ELICOS is also of some interest. These programs articulate with the University of Adelaide undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
The University of Adelaide College is the preferred pathway provider for the University of Adelaide, and classes are delivered either at the College’s Melbourne or Adelaide premises.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently planning and delivering high-quality face-2-face lessons in accordance with the curriculum and class schedules
- Conducting courses spanning a range of language levels to international students who will proceed to study further with higher education
- Carrying out administrative functions and operating with an LMS and Microsoft applications
- Addressing individual student needs and concerns both in and outside the classroom as appropriate to educational and institutional guidelines
- Participating in a team environment and contributing to the effective delivery of quality English language courses offered to international students
- Experience in teaching international students
- A recognised degree involving the study of history, culture or a related focus
- Experience in secondary or tertiary education
- Energy, enthusiasm, and a dynamic approach to classroom performance
- A commitment to student learning
- Effective communication skills and ability to communicate tactfully
- Confidence using educational program and the LMS (Canvas)
