We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Functional Support Consultant at the Perth CBD Office, on a Full-Time Permanent basis.


About this role

As an Ellipse (or other ERP) Finance, Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will be required to assist in the configuration of Western Power IT systems within a process domain to meet business needs, including data updates, enhancement requests and security changes.

This position also provides advice and assistance to business users to optimise system use and resolve technical and business issues.

As the Functional Support Consultant for Ellipse Finance, you will be required to:

  • Analyse and resolve functional incidents and problems, including root cause analysis and solution design in line with defined service levels and provide timely communication to all stakeholders.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of Western Power's Finance systems and how they support business processes and outcomes.
  • Maintain system documentation to a high standard as required to ensure business process governance.
  • Configure enterprise IT systems to evolving business processes and objectives and assist with testing.
  • Provide cost effective responses to user requests for advice, support and resolution of technical and business process issues.
  • Perform housekeeping and scheduled maintenance activities to maintain the health of enterprise systems.
  • Apply governance processes and maintain enterprise system security in line with business needs.
  • Maintain the integrity of enterprise systems and minimise changes in line with business priorities.
  • Support the effective application of enterprise systems to address business objectives by making connections with business and ICT stakeholders.
  • Respond effectively to competing demands from users by maintaining focus on Western Power's strategic objectives and IT architectures.
  • Contribute to standardisation of use of enterprise systems by providing advice to users, simplifying configuration, minimising customisations and identifying training needs.


About you

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

  • Tertiary qualifications or extensive (greater than 5 to 7 years') demonstrated and sound industry experience in Information Technology or related discipline.
  • Previous sound end to end functional knowledge of enterprise systems, business processes and end users, including system configuration, security, integration, customisation and reporting.
  • Sound experience and ability to analyse and resolve functional incidents and problems, including root cause analysis and solution design.
  • Ability to assess business requirements for enhancements to enterprise systems and recommend solutions that will provide best for business outcomes.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with enterprise system stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in testing enterprise systems to ensure that business requirements are met.
  • Ability to consult effectively, provide user advice and basic coaching / training on the use of enterprise systems and the related business processes they support.
  • Ability to self-manage to effectively balance and prioritise consultancy, support and project tasks.
