About the role
As the Fraud Intelligence Specialist you will share, gather and evaluate information from different sources and to use this intelligence to assist and inform detection rule development. In this role you will also support complex investigations, including internal investigations, and gather information and outcomes which lead to solutions to reduce the impacts of fraud and scams in the community.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Support the early detection of fraud by assisting in the development and deployment of rules and other detection strategies.
- Manage data compromises and CPP notifications.
- Maintain accurate records/statistics in relevant internal data systems to assist with reporting requirements and ongoing management of the business.
- Escalate complex matters to Senior Intelligence and Detection Specialist.
- Undertakes analysis and provides administrative support in the assessment and dissemination of Fraud Intelligence and supports fraud prevention and detection activities.
- Deliver excellence in customer service and manage member expectations by developing strong working relationships with internal and external customers based on HPC values.
About you
Inquisitive by nature, you work with an investigative mindset and lean on your innate ability to troubleshoot, and problem solve. You have an analytical intellect which allows you to evaluate large volumes of data and present findings in a clear, visual manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You pride yourself in your ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders as well as industry networks, keeping your finger on the pulse of industry trends and practices.
We also seek:
- Understanding of financial services industry products.
- Good understanding of all HPC products (lending and deposit), services, policies and processes.
- Sound understanding of the Financial Industry Fraud and AML/CTF Related Bodies and how relationships work together to ensure effectiveness.
- Experience with text mining, analytics, unstructured data wrangling, cleaning, and sampling.
