Fresh Produce Quality Assessor

Rudge Produce Systems is a leading provider of inspection services and quality assurance to Australia’s Fresh Produce industry.  The company is proud of its record in customer service and the calibre of its team. 

We require a competent, hands-on person in Melbourne to assess the quality of fruit and vegetables.  The position is full time but could be tailored to suit the right person. You will have the opportunity to develop skills quickly as a member of our supportive team.

Role and Responsibility

• Inspection of imported, interstate and export produce.
• Quality monitoring and testing for Industry groups.
• Issuing digital reports
• Taking photographs
• Managing tasks to ensure they are completed on time
• Direct communication with customers

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to work alone or as part of a team. 
• Ability to prioritise and multi-task.
• Flexibility in your working hours.  Most of our activities occur between 6am and 1pm on weekdays.  There may be the opportunity for weekend work.
• Excellent computer skills and the ability to learn new software
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Good photography skills
• The ability to express yourself clearly in writing
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a “can do” attitude
• A good level of fitness. We require you to have a full medical prior to commencement.
• Current and valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
• Right to work in Australia

Desirable

• Relevant tertiary qualification
• Knowledge of QA systems
