Bread + Butter is a place built for togetherness. A unique amalgamation of a small batch butter factory - Tasmania Butter Company, wholesale/retail bakery, onsite eatery and coffee bar.
Our mission is to deliver delicious + exceptional bread, pastries, coffee, and food for our community every single day of the year.
We are searching for experienced + exceptional front-of-house team members to join us in full-time and part-time roles, but flexible for the right candidate.
FOH:
- Assist all FOH operations to ensure safety, quality, accuracy, efficiency, and profitability.
- Uphold a passion for service and an in-depth knowledge of all food and beverage menus.
- Communicates clearly and concisely with all supervisors and colleagues before, during service, and after service.
- Maintain good relations with the kitchen and give feedback regarding the menu and customer feedback.
- Anticipate and accommodate the needs of your guests.
- Establish and maintain relationships with regular guests and encourage new guests to become regulars.
- Assists in maintaining the general cleanliness of the entire venue.
- Responsible for maintaining the ambience in the restaurant at all times (lighting, temperature, music, furniture, and overall presentation).
Supervisory role:
- Lead the front-of-house and barista team in day-to-day operations.
- Liaise with the kitchen teams daily to ensure production and products are delivered at reasonable levels and of a high standard.
- Assist in growing both the team + business in a busy, unique, and supportive environment.
- Work collaboratively with our team network to enhance our service experience and how we deliver it.
- Represent Bread + Butter with an engaged and open-minded approach to work and community.
- The roster is within budget and attends regular team meetings.
- Monitor and strategise to reach KPIs and targets.
- Implement and maintain our systems + processes.
- Train our new team members to a consistently high standard.
- Assist with ordering.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated understanding of high-volume, fast-paced workplaces.
- A progressive attitude about work.
- Resilient and able to perform in high-pressure service periods.
- Strong work ethic.
- Think outside the box when it comes to problem-solving.
- Be committed to cleanliness and have an exceptional understanding of food safety standards.
- Passionate about hospitality, pastry and coffee.
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Respect for our ethos and values.
- A solid understanding of Tasmanian food and wine is preferred.
