About Us 

Harrup Park is the leading sport, recreation, and entertainment venue in the Mackay region. The venue prides itself on providing the highest quality food, beverage, gaming, and event offerings available in Mackay.

We already boasted the best sporting facilities in the region however it’s now even better with the recent completion of the 25-million-dollar Great Barrier Reef Arena, springboarding our facility above any other in regional Australia.

We have a modern function Centre, 200 of the latest gaming machines, bars, a café, and the best outdoor garden bar in the region. 

The role 

The hospitality receptionist role serves as the primary point of contact for all incoming enquiries, providing exceptional customer service and efficient support to patrons reaching out to the business. The key responsibilities entail promptly handling incoming phone calls and email enquiries, managing bookings, and directing patrons to the appropriate areas when arriving at The Club. This requires a comprehensive understanding of all promotions & events at all times.

In addition to managing enquiries, the guest Services Attendant plays a vital role in maintaining records, ensuring that essential reception items are stocked, and overseeing venue laminating tasks to ensure materials are available for collection. Furthermore, the role involves providing support to the other teams as required, contributing to the smooth operation of The Club.

An ideal candidate for this position must possess a pleasant and professional phone manner, adept at handling various customer issues with tact and efficiency. Effective communication skills and a welcoming, customer-centric approach are essential for successfully fulfilling the responsibilities of this role. This role would suit an applicant who has previous FOH experience and is looking to eventually progress through the business.

Duties and Skills 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all incoming enquiries via phone calls and emails.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to enquiries, providing accurate information or directing patrons to the appropriate areas.
  • Enter bookings information into the system accurately. 
  • Enter Courtesy Bus bookings into the system accurately.
  • Filter phone enquiries into the required areas for the teams to handle efficiently.
  • Monitor reception stock supplies and re-order as necessary.
  • Complete the required printing & laminating i.e. new menus, table bookings signs.
  • Handle customer issues and complaints tactfully, striving to resolve them promptly and satisfactorily.
  • Provide support to the other teams by assisting with various tasks and projects as required.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of The Club and its offerings to effectively assist patrons.
