Frontend Staff Engineer (React)

Role Overview  
As a Front End Staff Engineer, you will be at the forefront, significantly influencing and impacting their deeply technical engineering environment. Your role is crucial in molding the future of their front-end web domain, which facilitates transactions exceeding $1.2 billion annually.

Based in Sydney, hybrid role from Sydney office. My clients journey has evolved from a startup to a scale-up. The platform, renowned for its speed and extensive features, operates as both a marketplace and a cloud-based payment and ordering SaaS solution. With it facilitating $1.2 billion in transactions yearly, they are harnessing AI to provide detailed data insights, thereby amplifying the value they deliver to clients. The technology stack includes React, Typescript, Node, PostgreSQL, and AWS Lambda.

About You
As an accomplished Senior Front End Engineer, you are at the pinnacle of your profession. Motivated by the drive to make a significant impact, you excel in mentoring and offering guidance, as well as in the adoption of emerging technologies. They are eager to transition to Tailwind, enhance their front-end data-fetching practices, and acknowledge the potential for advancements in their front-end infrastructure and architecture. Moreover, they see opportunities to explore new front-end tools and frameworks. Your collaborative nature is fundamental; you thrive in settings that prioritise ownership and value mentorship.

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

• A minimum of 5 years in front-end roles, focusing on the development and architecture of contemporary consumer-oriented web applications.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the internet, including fundamental aspects of JS, CSS, HTML, web mechanics, and browsers.
• Proficiency in modern TypeScript with React/Next (utilising functional components and hooks).
• Expertise in front-end tooling and architectural design.

Desirable:

• Acquaintance with cloud technologies (particularly AWS serverless solutions).
• Experience in leadership and mentoring roles.
• Server-side TypeScript Node.js expertise.
• Notable involvement in community or open-source initiatives.
