The Venue
A well renowned Property Developer and Sydney hospitality consultants will be opening a new, upmarket cocktail bar and restaurant in Newcastle's upcoming Islington area.
A restaurant background in upmarket/ Modern Australian cuisines would be ideal but very open to backgrounds across different cuisines. The venue, CLOSED, is still under construction but with an open date set for middle to late April, we are looking for the next integral member of our team.
The Role
Full Time Chef- we are looking for a Full Time qualified chef to come on board in our brand new kitchen to join the team at closed. We are a small team, so we would love to have someone friendly, a team player and hard working. This role is Full Time, and will be 5 days a week with two days off. This roll will be paid hourly at an above award rate. Your role would be-
- assisting the Sous chef and Head chef in the day to day operations in the kitchen
- food preparation and set up/ close down procedures
- running certain areas of the kitchen independently e.g. larder, grill, fryer etc.
- maintaining cleanliness and safety of the kitchen environment along with our team
- producing high quality food and plating
To be successful we would love to see
- minimum 3 years previous experience and a current qualification
-a strong work ethic and positive attitude
- a friendly demeanour and a team player
- a strong focus on serving quality food
- a genuine passion for food and someone who loves to be creative
