About the Job

We are seeking an energetic dog-lover to join our team of passionatePet Taxi Driversand Doggy Daycare Attendants at our spacious, air conditioned Hanrob Playgrounds Doggy Daycarelocated in Warringah Mall.

This role on offer is working 5 days per week with some split shifts across Tuesday to Saturday.

The key accountabilities of this role will include driving Hanrob's Pet Taxi van to collect/drop off pets, supervising pets, cleaning, customer service and retail sales.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of high-quality pet welfare and supervision at all times, securing dogs safely in the Pet Taxi van, meeting & greeting pets and their owners while checking them in & out of the Playgrounds, and ensuring our play-yards are kept clean, hygienic and looking great!

About You

You are reliable, motivated and hard working, with genuine affection for dogs. To be a high performer in this role, you will be:

  • A confident, safe, fully-licensed driver with at least 3 years of driving experience.
  • Able to provide evidence of a clean driving record and an unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence (sorry, no P-Platers).
  • Available to work afternoons on weekdays from 3-7pm, and rotating rostered shifts on weekends, as well as public holidays and school holiday periods.
  • Experienced in caring for dogs - pet-sitting, dog-walking, vet clinics, Doggy Daycares, boarding kennels or catteries (preferred).
  • Capable and confident in transporting and lifting dogs in and out of the Company Van.
  • Available to work extra shifts during school holidays/peak periods.
  • Flexible and able to cover planned leave, as well as unplanned absences, sometimes at short notice.
  • Customer-focused, preferably in a retail or hospitality environment.
  • Prepared to jump at the chance to help others in your team.
  • Able to carry out tasks to required timeframes to satisfy productivity expectations.
  • Able to work independently, and willing to ask for guidance for more complex matters.
  • Passionate about companion animals.
  • A good communicator and positive person who enjoys teamwork.
  • Committed to working safely, and following Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Willing and able to adhere to Hanrob Playgrounds' operating procedures and work health and safety requirements at all times.

IMPORTANT: This is an active and physical role requiring you to drive a large van and be able to lift and secure animals into enclosures and cages for safe transporting. In addition to driving, the incumbent will be required to work indoors and outdoors (sometimes in inclement weather conditions), and in close proximity to dogs, on their feet for a significant portion of their day. They must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, bend, crouch, kneel, squat, reach, stretch, and restrain animals up to 50kg on leads, communicate, speak, and interact with team members, customers, airport staff, internal and external stakeholders, and members of the public in person and over the phone, in order to perform the inherent requirements of the role.
