As Functional Safety for Machinery Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our machinery and equipment offerings. You will be responsible for assessing, analysing, and implementing safety measures, protocols, and standards across our product range. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to develop and enhance safety procedures and guidelines. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining our reputation as a trusted provider of safe and reliable machinery solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in comprehensive safety assessments of machinery and equipment to identify potential hazards and risks.
- Develop and implement safety protocols, procedures, and standards in compliance with applicable regulations and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to integrate safety features and controls into new and existing machinery designs.
- Attend risk assessments and create safety documentation, including risk analysis reports, safety manuals, and operating procedures.
- Provide guidance and training to employees and stakeholders on machinery safety principles and practices.
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards and regulatory changes related to machinery safety.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure ongoing compliance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Investigate incidents and accidents related to machinery operation, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with external certification bodies and regulatory authorities to obtain necessary certifications and approvals for our machinery.
- Act as a subject matter expert on machinery safety, providing technical support and guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders.
About you
To be successful you will have:
- Certification as a Machinery Safety Expert or equivalent, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of machinery safety standards and practices.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in machinery safety assessments, risk analysis, and implementation of safety measures.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant machinery safety standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 13849, ISO 12100, ANSI B11 series, etc.).
- Familiarity with safety-related control systems, safety circuits, and safety components.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex machinery safety requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools and applications used for Machinery safety analysis and documentation.
