We are seeking an experienced Functions Manager to join our team at Tippler & Co on a part-time basis, approximately 15 hours per week. As a Functions Manager, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and develop our event operations, create remarkable guest experiences, and drive business growth through effective business development, including weddings.
Responsibilities:
- Event Management:
- Handle all event inquiries via email and other communication channels.
- Coordinate and plan events, including weddings, corporate functions, and private parties.
- Ensure flawless execution of events, from setup to teardown, to deliver memorable experiences.
- Collaborate with kitchen and service teams to customise menus and service plans for each event.
- Business Development:
- Proactively identify and pursue opportunities to generate new event bookings, with a particular focus on weddings.
- Make outbound calls and send emails to secure functions, ensuring monthly and quarterly targets are met.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, event planners, and industry partners.
- Attend industry events and networking activities to promote Tippler & Co's event services.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the event staff to provide exceptional service.
- Foster a culture of excellence in guest service and event execution.
- Effectively manage event budgets, staffing requirements, and resources.
- Point of Contact and Night Work:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for event clients, ensuring their needs are met throughout the planning and execution process.
- Be available for night work when required to oversee and ensure the success of evening events.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure that all events adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Maintain proper documentation and permits for events as required.
- Address any safety concerns or issues promptly.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in event management, including business development, with a focus on weddings, in a high-end restaurant, event venue, or hospitality setting.
- Strong attention to detail and staying current with event planning trends and best practices.
- Proficiency in guest service excellence and event logistics.
- Self-motivated with the ability to meet and exceed sales targets and KPIs.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
