The business structures, operates and manages investments across agriculture and agribusiness enterprises and regionally based infrastructure projects to improve investment performance through operational and technological efficiencies. Currently looking to recruit an experienced accountant into their team, they offer an outstanding opportunity for an experienced, driven and ambitious candidate with a proven background in financial accounting.
Your new role
Working closely with the CFO and senior operational management, this pivotal role is responsible for supporting the daily functions of the finance department, contributing to the effective, efficient and accurate financial operations across multiple entities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Providing financial, costing and analytics in support of understanding and improving profitability
- Ensuring the accuracy of the inventory records and remediation of discrepancies
- Conducting variance analysis and reporting on significant issues
- Monitoring and reporting on routine financial and operating metrics to the management team
- Managing the production of the annual budget, forecasting, modelling, scenario analysis and commentary
- Preparation of monthly financial performance reports with relevant commentary
- Managing cash flow and monitoring budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility
- Completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Overseeing daily transactions related to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Overseeing recording of the centrally processed payroll and associated labour costs to relevant cost centres
- Supporting the Business Manager with commercial analysis
What you'll need to succeed
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related field (preferably CA/CPA qualified or looking to become qualified)
- Experience in a financial accounting role
- Trust of Fund Accounting preferred but not essential
- Excellent planning and prioritisation skills
- Strong analytical skills, demonstrated in a previous commercial role
- Ability to produce complex reports
