ANZGOG (Australia New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group) is the peak organisation dedicated to gynaecological cancer research in Australia and New Zealand. With a network of over 1,300 members including surgeons, physicians, researchers, and allied health professionals, ANZGOG is committed to advancing research and improving outcomes for those affected by gynaecological cancer.
Operating under the WomenCan brand, ANZGOG's fundraising initiatives aim to support its mission of conducting innovative clinical trials and multidisciplinary research to save lives and enhance the quality of life for patients.
About the Role:
As a Fundraising Specialist - Community & Events, you will play a key role in designing and delivering a comprehensive community fundraising and corporate partnerships strategy. Your efforts will be crucial in fostering relationships and engaging community groups, organisations, ANZGOG members, and third-party fundraisers to generate vital income and enhance social capital within the communities they serve.
In this role you will also have the exciting opportunity to support the coordination and activation of energetic fundraising initiatives and events, you will manage annual plans and budgets, oversee community fundraising processes, and maintain compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a Community and Corporate Partnerships strategy to maximise growth and revenue.
- Collaborate with the Head of Fundraising to develop, manage, and report on annual plans and budgets.
- Provide leadership and support to community fundraisers, corporate partners, and ANZGOG members, ensuring effective stewardship and engagement.
- Offer fundraising support including toolkits and reminders to drive long-term value and retention.
- Develop and maintain the fundraising governance framework to ensure compliance with regulations across states and territories.
- Innovate new methods to support and grow fundraisers' contributions.
- Engage extensively with community fundraisers, groups, significant partners, and ANZGOG members.
- Develop tailored funding proposals to support ANZGOG’s research programs.
- Plan and execute event marketing strategies for community fundraising events.
- Coordinate all aspects of event planning and execution, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
- Promote events through collaboration with the Communications team and support from volunteers.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in community fundraising, donor relations, events, or nonprofit development.
- Experience providing top level support to fundraisers to help maximise fundraising results.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with a diverse range of community members.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with donors, volunteers, and partners.
- Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative community fundraising strategies.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.
- Proficiency in using fundraising software and data analytics tools.
