About the Job
The purpose of this role is to coordinate funeral services and includes tasks that range from the initial meeting with a family to liaising with venues and celebrants. It requires sensitivity to circumstances involving grieving families, their values and beliefs as well as the ability to be at ease with death and the expression of grief.
While previous experience would be preferred it is not essential. Of more importance is your ability to provide exceptional customer service and a meaningful experience for the family.
About you
You will possess a caring manner and the skills to help families ensure the service is meaningful and unique to their needs and wishes. This includes:
- High attention to detail
- ability to coordinate a range of tasks
- sound computer skills
- effective time management
- empathy and patience
- neat and tidy presentation
- be able to participate in an on-call roster
- full driver’s license
- Justice of the Peace (JP) or willingness to become one.
This is a role that will enable you to utilise a blend of strong organisational skills with the compassion to guide families sensitively through funeral planning.
