Dailey Family Funerals are a family-owned and operated funeral home dedicated to providing compassionate and professional services to our community. We are seeking a reliable and respectful individual to join our team as a Casual Funeral Assistant.
Position Overview:
As a Casual Funeral Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the funeral director and assisting with various tasks to ensure the smooth and respectful execution of funeral services. This position requires a compassionate demeanor, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism.
Key Responsibilities: Assist with the setup and conclusion of funeral services, including transportation, arranging flowers, seating, assisting the family and their guests, and any other necessary preparations and requirements on the day of the service
Provide assistance to the funeral directors with the necessary paperwork and documentation, and with phone/email inquiries from families and their guests
Performing light maintenance and cleaning tasks as required, ensuring the funeral home, vehicles, and equipment are clean, presentable, and in good working order Offer general support to the funeral director and other staff members as needed
Maintain a compassionate and respectful demeanor while interacting with grieving families and their guests
Role Requirements:
Have (or willing to obtain) a Police Check
Hold a valid, unrestricted NSW driver’s license
Perform manual handling, cleaning, and maintenance duties as required
Strong initiative, and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor in all interactions
Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, if required Willing to work between our funeral home locations as required (Lambton, Warners Bay, Edgeworth and Singleton) Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a funeral home or similar setting is an advantage, but not required
Basic understanding of funeral service operations
