About our opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Gallery Leader to join our Cultural Services team at Pine Rivers Art Gallery!  

Reporting to the Galleries Coordinator and working closely with the Team Leader of Exhibitions and Programs, you will supervise the operations of the Pine Rivers Art Gallery that presents a continual exhibition program, integrated with events and public programs, to a diverse audience base. Our vision is a gallery that is a destination for those who love art and a valued asset to the community that surrounds it.

Additionally, you will manage 3 gallery team members and a small cohort of volunteers on a day-to-day basis, including the preparation of rosters. As a natural leader, you will lead team members to achieve a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and innovation. Your standard roster will be Tuesday to Saturday, with a Saturday RDO.

Within our region, Council owns and operates three galleries in Caboolture, Redcliffe and Strathpine that provide our communities and visitors to our region with cultural and connected experiences. Accompanying our diverse and ever-changing exhibition programs are artist talks, workshops, school holiday programs and tours making our galleries the ultimate places to experience, engage and create!

This position requires the successful applicant to be available to work any 5 out of 7 days as part of the ordinary hours.

About you

We are looking for a natural leader with passion and dedication to art. You will have experience developing art-based programming leveraged from exhibitions as a driver for community connectedness and individual well-being.

You will be innovative and collaborative in your approach to building community engagement and positive experiences and have effective leadership and communication skills to actively engage with our stakeholders, including our residents, creative practitioners and tourists.

You will have the ability to uphold our values to provide effective leadership and strong experience and knowledge in the operations of a visitor-focused cultural facility. The successful applicant will be required to provide the following:

  • Current Working with children card for child related employment from Blue Card Services
  • Tertiary qualification in Cultural Services and/or equivalent experience
  • Current C class drivers’ licence

Cultural Services Department

This role sits within our Cultural Services Department, which includes Galleries, Museums, Libraries, Local History, and Cultural Activation. Cultural Services aims to provide engaging leisure and learning experiences by connecting people to resources and each other. We strive for excellence when delivering exhibitions, information, collections, programs and spaces for our community and visitors. Our department employs approximately 220 staff over 16 venues throughout the region.
