About You

We are looking for that person who enjoys working closely with their customers and can solve problems ‘on the run’. You will be able to prioritise tasks effectively and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will be able to work effectively with internal stakeholders across the business. You will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the export Freight Forwarding industry.
About The Position
As the Business Development Manager within our organisation, you will be responsible for the revenue and growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans aligning with the company's overall objectives and growth targets. Work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of the strategy.
New Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the industrial market segment, projects, new markets, procurement and selling of services.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery and addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
Market Research: Analyse data to identify key market segments and potential business opportunities. Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial terms. Collaborate with legal and operational teams to ensure contract compliance.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a Business Development role within the freight forwarding industry.
- In-depth knowledge of freight logistics, including documentation, customs clearance, and shipping regulations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a demonstrated ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive client and vendor relationships.
- Familiarity with relevant industry software and technology.
This is a hands-on role that will suit a highly organised individual, with a strict attention to detail.
