How did you think you’d make your living growing up?
The term 'DevOps' didn't exist.
But I bet you didn’t aspire to work in a government office in Canberra. Building platforms for taxation. Superannuation. Or the births deaths and marriages registry, did you?
You probably thought about making a product that makes a difference. Work that meant something. So how about you help tackle the cost of living crisis in Australia, whilst supporting a move to green energy?
You’d join a team of 30, with around 10 tech specialists ranging from data, developers, embedded software and electronics engineers.
They’re taking a world-first approach to solar energy. Creating a platform that allows its users to trade energy through a sophisticated system of remote networks and VPNs deployed, nationally.
Sure anyone can put solar panels on their roof. But leveraging novel solar, battery and inverter technology. Combined with an intelligent networking platform. You can help make things… Well, a lot smarter.
What you’ll be doing…
The platform is stable now. But with a capital raise planned this year to drive product sales there’s a lot to do across GCP, provisioning new services, migrating to Kubernetes and building better monitoring.
This is your chance to shape the networking and cloud infrastructure, server architecture and security compliance. There’s already a strong DevOps philosophy. So tools like Terraform, Crossplane, Docker, Postgres and Kafka are already there.
The advantage of doing this early on in a small business is things will move quickly. You can access the knowledge you need to get into the weeds for provisioning new services.
You’ll enjoy the flexible hours and option to work from home 4 days a week. If you drive an electric car, you can charge it at work for free. In the summer months, you can enjoy the additional annual leave provided over the standard 20 days.
What you’ll need…
You’re the kind of person who enjoys diving deep into networking. We’ll also need you to bring experience in Linux, Python and Cloud Infrastructure.
If you’re used to working in small, agile environments great. If you’re from a more corporate background and looking for less red tape, that’s fine too.
