General Accountant

The position duties are listed below:

• Assisting in formulating budgetary and accounting policies;
• Preparing financial statements (including statement of profit and loss, balance sheet and statement of cash flow) for board meeting on a monthly basis;
• Preparing cash flow forecast on a weekly basis;
• Preparing the pay monthly BAS lodgement for GST payable and PAYG withheld;
• Monitoring operating costs and investigating material budget variances on a monthly basis;
• Providing advice on cost saving strategies to management.
• Implementing accounting system and software.
• Providing assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements.
• Monitoring and maintaining internal control policies
• Liaising with external auditors and ATO

Qualification and essential skill requirements

• Minimum requirement is a bachelor’s degree with Accountant major
• Minimum 3 years working experience in similar role 
• Experience with an Accounting software desirable 
• Strong organisational, attention to detail and data management skills
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritise accordingly
