Position Overview:
The role focuses on ensuring precise financial reporting by conducting monthly reconciliations, compiling various financial reports, overseeing compliance with BAS and ATO, analyzing discrepancies, improving procedures, managing loan repayments, reconciling platforms, student payments and agent commissions, and maintaining adherence to regulatory standards.
Qualifications & experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or higher.
- Professional certifications like CPA or CMA are advantageous.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar capacity.
Tasks & responsibilities:
- Conduct monthly reconciliation and present Balance Sheet and P&L reports.
- Use of Student Management System (RTO Manager) to keep record of student payments, agent commission.
- Process accounts payable and receivable
- Manage daily banking
- Prepare reports on overdue accounts
- Follow up overdue accounts
- Compile and prepare data for BAS submissions and other ATO obligations.
- Analyze and report on Profit & Loss variances.
- Create and refine essential reports for ongoing use, contributing to process enhancement.
- Compile tax return reports.
- Carry out monthly reconciliations in Xero, including credit lines, for accurate financial statements.
- Coordinate with agents on commission payments.
- Maintain internal control systems and comply with financial regulations and policies.
- Ensure payroll processing is completed accurately
- Track leave accruals
- Reconcile and make monthly PAYG payments
- Reconcile and make quarterly superannuation payments
- Reconcile and make payment summaries
- Assist in audit processes.
Skills Required:
- In-depth understanding of accounting standards and procedures, including GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with Xero accounting, Student Management Systems.
- Experience in managing general ledger activities.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to organize, meet deadlines, think quickly, and juggle multiple tasks.
