JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an Accountant to provide timely and accurate management accounting services. This will include internal reporting, budgeting and forecasting. On offer is a salary in line with market rates a laptop, free onsite parking.

KEY DUTIES:

  • Maintain Financial Databases and other applications.
  • Manage Accounts Receivable and payable duties.
  • Handle the BAS, FBT lodgements and other statutory obligations as per delegation.
  • Perform month end, year-end reconciliations, and reporting duties.
  • Prepare financial reports for the CEO, Manager of Corporate Services 
  • Handle banking transactions, petty cash, credit card reimbursement.
  • Assist with Annual Financial Audits and other internal audit process.
  • Assist with Financial Acquittal and budgeting process.
  • Analysis and preparation of data and reports relating to financial transactions.
  • Coordinate financial authorisations in accordance with Delegation Table/Board Approval for invoices, co-ordinating Purchase order system.
  • Ensure Logic QMS Register updates to meet the compliance obligations.
  • Processing of payroll in accordance with DDACL Policies and Procedures
  • Assist staff with payroll queries and processes including Salary Packaging and Superannuation
  •  Assist with salary packaging employee benefit payments and liaise with Payroll personnel to ensure benefits are accurately recorded and processed
  • Review and respond to all enquiries/communications in a timely manner.
  • Identify and escalate discrepancies with financial transactions and policies.
  • Prioritise tasks to ensure financial and acquittal reporting timelines are met.
  • Provide support to other team members and operate in accordance with team objectives

Your skills & experience

  • Business or Commerce degree, majoring in Accounting
  • CA/CPA qualifications, or working towards completing
  • 3 years accounting experience, with commercial and/or management accounting experience being highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to expertly navigate Finance systems and streamline business processes  
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a team to achieve outstanding results.

Other Requirements

  • Excellent general computer and administrative skills. 
  • Experience in providing financial and administrative support
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to relate to and work positively with staff and managers.
