The Role
This role is primarily to provide counselling to enhance the healthy functioning of individuals, family groups and couples. Programs you will be working in range from Family and Relationship Services, to Gambling help, Family Law Counselling, Specialised Family Violence and Men Choosing Respect (for perpetrators of domestic violence).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide counselling and support to individual children and adults, couples, and families. Implement a counselling approach to service delivery in conjunction with the requirements of Centrecare’s Therapeutic Framework.
- Implement Program Outlines, Program Logic, Pathways Service Model, Program Activity Plan, and Flowcharts to guide staff within services and ensure compliance with the Centrecare Therapeutic Framework.
- Conduct client assessments, develop case plans, and make appropriate referrals based on clients' identified needs.
- Develop and facilitate training seminars across metropolitan and regional Western Australia. Foster respectful, supportive, collaborative, and responsive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide family and domestic violence risk assessment, safety planning, and risk management for clients. Participate in multi-agency case management meetings as required. Provide induction support to new staff within the service.
Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualification in psychology, social work, or related discipline.
- Relevant experience in working with children and families with complex needs in the area of domestic violence, homelessness, abuse, schooling issues.
- Excellent skills in report writing, case management and coordination of client services.
- Experience in group and workshop facilitation is highly regarded
- Demonstrated ability to form and maintain working relationships with other agencies.
- A committed team player.
- Highly developed clinical skills and knowledge.
- Possession of a current Class ‘C’ driver’s license and own vehicle.
- National Police Clearance.
- Working with Children Check or eligibility to apply.
