The Role
Are you a skilled handy person with a passion for making a meaningful impact in a vibrant educational setting? We are actively seeking a proactive and hands-on General Hand & Maintenance Officer to join our Operations Team. In this pivotal role, you'll contribute to the overall functionality and aesthetics of our College facilities, equipment, and infrastructure. Your customer-focused approach will be key to ensuring the seamless maintenance and compliance of our physical assets.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and takes pride in maintaining a safe and efficient space for both students and staff. As a full-time permanent position (38 hours per week, Monday-Friday), this role offers stability and the chance to grow within our organisation. The salary, ranging from $50,000 to $55,000, reflects our commitment to valuing the experience and expertise that the right candidate brings to our team. You’re a good fit for this position if you:
- Possess solid experience in providing routine maintenance of buildings, machinery, and equipment.
- Demonstrate ability to handle basic repairs and troubleshooting problems with plumbing, electrical systems, heating and cooling systems, and other building components.
- Skilled at following a job ticketing system to ensure the efficient and effective addressing of maintenance requests.
- Thrive in a service delivery role where attention to detail and efficiency is valued.
- Possess strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service by being responsive, empathetic and solution oriented.
- Demonstrate well developed interpersonal and communication skills establishing effective and efficient liaison with key stakeholders to act as a vital link in the school communication, ensuring the smooth flow of information.
- Demonstrate the ability to quickly and effectively gain knowledge of systems and processes and seek opportunities to introduce efficiencies.
- Value the importance of child safety and maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards child abuse.
