About the Position
Embark on a leadership journey as the General Manager of a renowned Warrnambool establishment, offering a competitive salary of $100,000 - $120,000 plus super. This unique role requires previous experience running successful Food, Beverage, Gaming, and late-night trading operations (nightclubs).
Position Description
Financial Performance Responsibilities
- Driving revenue growth across key revenue streams.
- Managing wage expenditure to meet negotiated targets with key stakeholders.
- Maintaining control over food and beverage costs in line with negotiated targets with key stakeholders.
- Managing controllable overheads in alignment with negotiated targets with key stakeholders.
- Setting financial objectives for all subordinate managers and supervisors.
- Vigilantly monitor staff turnover in each department and address any concerns promptly.
- Development of financial reports: Gaming reporting | Customer average spend per department | Weekly and monthly departmental sales versus labor reports | Monthly stock usage and variance reports | Monthly departmental staff turnover reports.
Ensuring Adherence to Management and Control Systems
- Implementing a systematic recruitment process.
- Overseeing staff induction and orientation programs.
- Facilitating skills training for ordinary staff.
- Utilizing a costed roster system for staff rostering.
- Enforcing correct disciplinary and termination procedures.
- Supervising proper goods receipt and checking procedures.
- Maintaining effective stock control and rotation procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with hygiene, sanitation, and safety protocols.
Presentation and Maintenance Oversight
- Guaranteeing the development, execution, and upkeep of meticulous cleaning and maintenance schedules across all departments.
- Upholding the prescribed standards for the hotel and its exterior surroundings as set forth by key stakeholders.
- Ensuring cost-effective management of minor subcontracted maintenance work that does not disrupt business operations.
Staff Supervision and Security Oversight
- Ensuring each department is adequately staffed and prepared at the beginning of each scheduled shift.
- Conduct routine operational department rounds during peak and service hours to redistribute staff as needed or offer direct assistance.
- Enforcing strict adherence to lock-up and security procedures by department managers and supervisors.
Position Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of managerial expertise and a solid understanding of efficiently operating a busy hotel, particularly within the gaming and wagering sector.
- Comprehensive knowledge of TAB and gaming operations, ensuring service levels are optimal.
- A demonstrated understanding of industry-related technology systems across gaming, point of sale, and inventory management.
- Thorough understanding of constantly evolving gaming regulations, compliance laws, and legislation.
- Late-night trading experience, ideally within a nightclub environment, would be highly desirable.
