Wine Australia has a customer centric culture, putting the customer at the heart of everything we do. Based at our head office in Adelaide (located at the National Wine Centre) and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the General Manager Customer Engagement is responsible for strategic leadership and management of all Customer Engagement, corporate affairs, Public Relations and communications undertaken by Wine Australia.
You will play a key role in:
- developing and executing the Wine Australia strategy for:
- Customer Engagement,
- internal and external communication, including corporate messaging and brand, and
- public relations and mitigating corporate reputational risk
- key point of contact for key customers, including state and regional associations, RDCs and State Governments,
- media contact for business queries,
- in partnership with the GM Marketing, GM Regulation and General Counsel and the GM R&I, ensuring consistent messaging and branding used across communications and engagement activities,
- supporting the CEO by leading the management of key Customer Engagement groups,
- executing and reporting recommendations from Customer Engagement Survey,
- working with the GM Strategy and Operations, to coordinate Customer Engagement activities for the Board, CEO and SLT,
- leading delivery of ongoing customer experience enhancement of communications in partnership with GM Strategy & Operations,
- co-ordinating the preparation of presentations, speeches, briefing notes and power point decks for the Chair, Board, CEO and senior management, and
- providing strong leadership and guidance to the Customer Engagement team.
We are keen to hear from you if you possess a tertiary degree in communications, public relations, journalism or related discipline and ideally have wine sector experience.
You will also have:
- extensive experience successfully managing corporate affairs, public relations and communications – in house or agency – to drive positive change and results,
- experience developing and implementing a corporate brand strategy, with a focus on effective public relations, Customer Engagement activities and communications,
- exceptional written and oral communication skills with strong levels of ownership and accountability,
- a strong understanding of user-experience focused digital communications channels and platforms,
- a strong commercial and consumer understanding,
- experience developing and delivering compelling content for a range of stakeholders and media across internal and external communication channels,
- ability to influence key stakeholders and confidence working with a diverse range of stakeholders,
- highly experienced in building and managing media relationships, with the ability to act as media spokesperson as required,
- the ability to think strategically and identify, articulate and execute clear management of complex issues,
- experience conceiving and delivering impactful public relations events,
- excellent attention to detail,
- the ability to sustain focus on conflicting priorities and deliver at pace with consistent quality, and
- enthusiasm, high energy levels and a good sense of humour.
Remuneration will be negotiated based on skills and experience of the successful candidate. Relocation support and work flexibility will be considered. Travel will be required.
