The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is Australia’s national statistical agency and an official source of independent, reliable data and statistics. As ABS’ General Manager, Data Sourcing (SES Band 2) you will report to the Deputy Australian Statistician, Data and Statistical Practices and will be responsible for leading a division of more than 800 staff, including 300+ field interviewers and more than 100 contact centre staff, and overseeing the Division’s work program to deliver high quality Data Sourcing services to the ABS. In this exciting role you will be in the unique position to drive the transformation of the ABS’ Data Sourcing operations to provide easier and more contemporary ways for Australian business and households to provide data.
You will develop and maintain strong relationships with key Commonwealth, State/Territory and non-government stakeholders, represent the ABS on high-level cross agency working groups, committees and international fora. You will manage the division’s current and forward year budget, including improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the Division.

- demonstrated leadership expertise in operations management, preferably in a data-related role, and transformation of operations functions and change management will be highly regarded.
