Your Role

As the General Manager of Food & Beverage you will oversee food and beverage operations across Hamilton Island, ensuring exceptional service, quality, and profitability. This role involves strategic planning, leadership, and operational management to deliver an outstanding guest experience. You will work closely with the Hamilton Island Executive Team to align F&B services with the company's vision, mission, values, policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Develop and implement long-term strategies to enhance the F&B offering that aligns to Hamilton Island brand and target markets
• Ensure all F&B operations run smoothly, efficiently, and within budget
• Create extraordinary experiences by delivering exceptional service and quality
• Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop and promote F&B services and events
• Plan and execute business events, special events and promotions to drive business
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding safety, food safety, gaming and alcohol service
• Drive F&B operations towards more sustainable practices lowering the environmental footprint of operations
• Fostering a workplace culture that reflects the core values of Hamilton Island - Service, Excellence, Team, Safety and Environment

About You

The successful candidate will be excited to be relocating to Hamilton Island and joining our community. Salary sacrificed housing is provided, with an attractive rental rate for the 4-bedroom house (you won’t be paying capital city prices here).

You will have at a minimum 10 years of experience in food and beverage management, preferably within a large resort or luxury hotel setting.

Your qualifications and experience include:

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Have or ability to obtain prior to commencement Responsible Management of licensed venues (RMLV)
• Have or ability to obtain prior to commencement Gaming Licensee qualification
• QLD or Nationally recognised Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Responsible Service of Gaming (RSG)
• Customer Service:  You have a strong focus on customer satisfaction, understanding customer needs, and ensuring extraordinary experiences are delivered at all times.
• Leadership: You lead by example and have the ability to establish trust and develop productive relationships with all levels of the organization.
• Financial Acumen: You have a strong understanding of budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control to manage the financial aspects of the business. You analyse financial data and make informed decisions.
• Problem-Solving: You quickly identify issues and implement effective solutions. Creative thinking and adaptability are crucial for handling unexpected challenges.
• Communication Skills: You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with the team, customers, and vendors. Your clear communication ensures smooth operations and effective team coordination.
