About the company This well established Australian head contractor specialises in Commercial Building maintenance, remedial and facilities management construction throughout Sydney and Regional NSW. Their business in NSW is peaking and repeat clients have requested their services and growth in other states; so this is an excellent senior footing for a solid General Manager to manage their NSW office.
From general design, to maintenance of complex renovations, alterations and commercial fit-out, they service the needs of local councils, government funded projects, major commercial retail business, to strict worksafe guidelines.Their passion and desire is to deliver the best projects in their skilled remit, in which they plan to continue growth into other sectors, setting a high standard for the industry and to competitors.Project values vary from $1 million up to $10 million, and a strong team environment, with a growing business office awaits your management style.
The role
As a driven General Manager you will report directly to the Director/Owner and you will run an office of up to 10 x direct reports which include - an Estimator, 2 x Admins, a bookkeeper and PM’s.
The role requires someone with energy and excellent communication skills as you will be liaising with clients, sub contractors, site teams, as well as running reports and holding people accountable.

Fit out to cold shells
Remedial
Fit out to warm shells (very few)
Renovations/Extensions
Extensions into adjoining tenancies (in shopping centres)
Front, side and rear extensions on standalone buildings
New build construction
Extensions and additions
Key responsibilities
Manage, liaise and coordinate office personal - Overseeing the office
KPI’s monitoring
Running Reports
Ensure projects are on time and on cost.
Assist in site set up and final handover.
Ensure compliance with all on site regulations.
Proven track record working as part of a large team in a busy live environment.
Duties:
You must have experience working for a well respected Remedial Maintenance Builder as a General Manager and 10 years plus experience plus a proven track record delivering schemes in excess of $1 million.
Skills and Experience
10 years plus working as a Project Manager or Site Manager, ideally last 3 years working as a GM for a similar Building and Maintenance business overseeing Project Managers, Trades and office staff.
Record of dealing with commercial/retail projects.
High level of planning and organisational skills.
Track record of liaising closely with PM’s and Subcontractors
Demonstrate excellent team working skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Proven track record working as part of a large team in a busy live environment.
