The South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) is looking for a new General Manager to lead the People and Performance team. This role is best suited to a highly motivated HR generalist who has significant experience leading a full range of people activities. Importantly, as a key member of the SACA Executive Leadership Team, we are looking for a strong leader who can drive a positive culture of high performance, accountability, collaboration and foster people growth and development across the business.
This diverse role requires a balance of leading strategic people initiatives, whilst managing complex and varied day-to-day HR and People matters. In this busy team no two days are the same!
The General Manager - People and Performance is also responsible for leading SACA's Diversity and Inclusion and Office Management portfolios. The role is a champion for inclusion within our business and is responsible for the delivery of SACA's Reconciliation Action Plan.
The key responsibilities of the role are to
- Work with the Executive Leadership Team to drive an organisational culture that places people growth and development, high performance and collaboration at the forefront of all that we do.
- Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team and all people managers within SACA to enhance people capabilities across all facets of the business.
- Lead the development and implementation of a learning and development strategy across the business, including investment in professional development, wellbeing and leadership programs.
- Provide trusted and sensitive advice and support to managers and staff on a wide range of HR matters.
- Provide hands on management of industrial and employment relations matters to ensure procedural fairness and legislative compliance.
- Lead the implementation of SACA's safety, health and wellbeing practises, in line with WHS legislation.
- Drive SACA's key inclusion strategies, including but not limited to the delivery of our Reconciliation Action Plan.
About you
- You will have a minimum of 10 years' experience in Human Resources and/or People and Culture in executive or senior roles.
- You have experience in leading organisational change and developing effective approaches to enhancing and improving organisational engagement and culture.
- You are an experienced HR Manager with proven success as a coach and mentor who motivates peers, direct reports and key stakeholders through effective leadership.
- You are approachable and trustworthy and have demonstrated experience acting as a trusted advisor.
- You demonstrate a high level of business acumen and critical thinking aptitude.
- As an experienced human resources generalist, you will have a unique ability to balance operational needs with strategic thinking.
- You are skilled at solving problems as they arise on the job. You are calm and pragmatic and able to drive deadlines in a changing environment.
- You are skilled at teaching and mentoring direct reports and broader teams. You have experience driving career conversations and coaching your managers to develop their staff.
- You will hold a valid Working with Children Check or can obtain one.
About SACA
SACA is one of the nation's premier sporting bodies, with a vision for cricket to be Australia's favorite sport - a sport for all Australians. Operating within the sports and entertainment industry, SACA offers an exciting and dynamic working environment and is responsible for overseeing and developing cricket at State level.
SACA is responsible for coordinating international and domestic cricket matches, Premier Cricket matches and community carnivals, coaching and development and pathway programs for girls and boys, coaching, umpiring, volunteer development and ground management.
SACA also administers high performance cricket in South Australia, including the South Australian women's and men's teams and the Adelaide Strikers women's and men's teams.
