An opportunity for an ambitious Retail professional to join the Jo Mercer leadership team. Reporting into our CEO, this role will be based at our Support Office in South Yarra.
As the General Manager of Retail, you will be implementing key strategic initiatives to deliver on financial and non-financial goals to drive sales within our 28 retail stores. This is a full-time parental leave cover role for up to 12 months, with immediate commencement.
Responsibilities of the role
• Develop and executive strategic plans to drive sales growth, enhance customer satisfaction and maximise operational efficiency across our retail fleet
• Guiding, developing and leading your team to achieve strategic objectives as set by you
• Managing the financial performance of the business through sales, gross profit and contribution
• Developing and implementing strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed budget; across all elements of retail and outlet stores
• Coaching of the sales and customer service teams to deliver and maintain high levels of customer service.
• Preparing sales, revenue, customer service and competitor activity reports
• Facilitate new store openings to agreed timelines
• Ensure compliance to National Employment Standards and the General Retail Industry Award
• Compile and review results across the retail network including quarterly reviews on store performance
• Regular interstate travel required
Skills & experience
• Minimum 5+ years of leading and managing a team of 5 direct reports
• Extensive knowledge of the Retail industry, with a focus on operations
• An understanding of legislative laws and requirements within a Retail environment
• Strong organisational skills
• Must have strong financial and business acumen
• Be an effective communicator
