The Position
We are currently seeking tutors having achieved high scores for General Maths 3&4 (Further Maths 3&4) to teach small group classes at our tuition centre in Box Hill.
We are looking for tutors who can teach any of the following subjects:
Maths
- VCE General Maths 3&4

Qualifications & Experience
- You MUST be legally permitted to work in Australia
- University Student, University Graduate, Qualified Teacher (copies of qualifications will need to be provided)
- Current Working With Children Certificate or willing to apply for one
- Achieved 40+ raw study score in English or Literature (for English Tutors)
- Achieved 40+ raw study score in Chemistry, Specialist Maths, Maths Methods or Further Maths (for Maths and Chemistry Tutors)
Tasks & responsibilities
- Teach small groups online and in centre using the Premier Education program
- Each student has an individual learning program tailored to their needs
- focus on closing the education gaps of each student to reach their goals
- review and plan weekly lessons
- Maintain excellent communication with parents on their child's weekly progress
- Maintain child safe standards and teaching environment
- Assist development of current course or amendments to program
- Development of homework and providing end of term reports
- Minimum 1 year commitment (recommended)
- Flexible working hours with minimum requirement of 4 hours per week
Ideal Candidates
To succeed as a tutor, you will have a passion for Mathematics and/or English and have the patience to work with students in their Secondary years. Ideally, you should have a successful track record as a previous educator in these subjects or be a University student who is capable of teaching these units. Experience is valued but not mandatory.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate:
- Experience in delivering programs to young people, such as teaching, tutoring and mentoring
- A high level of respect and care with regard to young people
- The ability to communicate effectively with students, families and team members
- Strong communication skills with the ability to apply a variety of teaching methods to adapt to our students' learning styles
- Able to use online platforms for learning such as Zoom
- A strong passion for working with students of all ages and abilities
- A current working with Children check card (WWCC) & Police Check or willingness to obtain
