The Role:
We are currently recruiting for a Permanent Full-time Mechanical Fitter to join our Offices/Worshop, located at Glendenning. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will assist carrying out mechanical application, fitting work, maintenance and routine service work on shaft hoisting equipment both in the workshop and on site.
The key areas of focus are:
- Responible for winder maintenance and inspections independently
- Carry out winder installation & fitting work as part of a team.
- Develop installation, maintenance, and inspection procedures for winders & hoisting systems.
- Focus on all service work that may be on site or in the workshop.
- Focus on both capital equipment and refurbishment of existing equipment.
- Interact with project engineers/managers in the execution of capital and refurbishment projects in the field.
- Have a working knowledge and adhere to the principles of work, health and safety.
- Abide by ‘best practice’ principles when carrying out design & service work.
- Support the risk and quality management policies of the company in the execution of business activities.
- Be available for national/overseas travel as directed at short notice.
- Liaise with suppliers.
- Liaise with sales and technical staff to maintain understanding of product specifications and quality control standards.
- Participate in procurement and logistics support.
- Adhere to budgetary constraints.
- Prepare detailed service and failure records.
- Maintain tools and test equipment supplied.
- Show the ability to work in a team environment.
- Be able to be a self-starter.
- Assist with training new personnel when or if required.
- Help with the development of reports and ITP’s.
- Assist with all other task that may be outside of your role.
About You:
- Demonstrated level of Mechanical aptitude with at least 7 years ‘experience on servicing winders
- Have fundamental experience with installing, maintaining, and inspecting winders & hoisting systems.
- Tertiary or Trade qualification.
- Commitment to safety and best environmental practice.
- Medium understanding of MS Office programs esp. Word and Excel.
- Demonstrated customer focus skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Hold a current CLASS C Drivers license.
- Knowledge of WHS Standards and Regulations.
- Knowledge of Mining Regulations and applicable Australian Standards.
- Understanding of design management processes.
- Working to a specific timeline and budget.
- Very good English language skills (oral and written)
- Right to work in Australia
