The OrganisationThe hospital is the major centre in the Midwest district of WA. It has 66 hospital beds for acute medical, surgical, paediatric and maternity patients. The hospital provides a 24-hour Emergency Department. It also provides a range of services including chemotherapy, renal dialysis, a hospital at home visiting service, medical imaging, pathology and same day surgery.This hospital has three medical teams, each managed by a consultant, registrar and junior doctors. Teams are responsible for inpatient and outpatient medical care including: High Dependency Unit, Hospital in the Home, Renal Dialysis and Oncology services. In addition, medical teams provide a high level of support to complex surgical and orthopaedic inpatients and other services.
The Job- As a General Medicine Registrar, you will be responsible for the day to day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the hospital
- You will attend Specialist ward rounds, undertake procedures as required, and be involved in discharge planning.
- General Medicine Registrars will rotate through the Medical Teams, evenings, weekends and nights, and there are options for secondment terms at regional facilities and rotations in Cardiology
- You will be responsible for providing after-hours cover, after-hours team, and short-term relief in other areas as required
- You are expected to participate in quality assurance and educational activities and provide supervision of Residents, Interns and Medical Students
Rewards- Registrar Salary Year 1-7, $131,299 to $175,977 p.a. (inclusive of base salary, superannuation and professional development allowance)

Requirements- Current registration as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner's Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligibility for registration via the competent authority pathway
