Seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to join our long time established privately owned friendly Practice. You will be a member of a team and be a vital contributor to the clinical undertakings of the practice.
The Family & Sports Medicine Centre has been established and providing continuing healthcare needs for our community for over 40 years. We as a team are committed to the provision of ongoing quality care for our patients.
We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic and caring Registered Nurse to join us.
The position is a temporary part time role, and the successful candidate must be available on Wednesdays, Thursday and Fridays. (8.30am to 5.30 pm) from the beginning of April to late June 2024. For the right person there is a permanent role at the end of this term.
We are looking for someone who can drive the practice forward, working with our other nurses to support the doctors and administrative staff.
The successful candidate must have:
- Current AHPRA registration.
- Current Indemnity Insurance
- Proficiency with Best Practice Clinical software
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency
- At least 3 years General Practice nursing experience
- Immunisation certificate
- Venipuncture proficiency
- Have current Basic Life Support / CPR Certification
- Have computer skills (knowledge of Best Practice software an advantage)
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously
- Self-motivation with a desire for continual professional development.
- Time management skills and effective triage knowledge.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Childhood immunisations, seasonal and travel vaccinations
- ECG, spirometry and venipuncture
- Wound dressing
- Clinical stock orders, stock rotation, restocking of consulting and treatment rooms
- Triage
- Telephone result recalls and reminder systems
- Chronic disease care planning
- Cold chain management and education of other staff, including the 'Strive-for-Five' guidelines
- Infection control
- Assist Doctors with procedures
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Medicare item numbers
- Be able to (learn to) assist with front desk duties.
- Ensuring the practice is meeting and exceeding practice accreditation standards
- Provide clinical leadership to other staff, (reception, doctors, other staff)
- Chronic disease management, age-appropriate and indigenous health checks
- Utilising our practice software to create effective test results and recall systems in-line with our practice policies and procedures
- Regular clinical audits, evaluation and implementation of any necessary processes in consultation with practice management
- Maintenance of clinical equipment including immunisation fridge
