Grand Pacific Health is the lead agency of headspace Canberra. We are a not-for-profit, primary health care organisation providing locally-tailored, high quality physical and mental health services across NSW and the ACT.
About the position
We are seeking a General Practitioner to join our service as a member of our multidisciplinary team at headspace Canberra.
You will provide high quality primary health care services by responding to medical/health concerns presented by young people aged 12-25 including diagnosis, investigation, treatment, and referral as appropriate. You will support young people around mental health, sexual health, drugs and alcohol, preventative healthcare, and other physical health problems.
We have a collaborative and holistic model of care at headspace. GP’s are supported by a team of experienced healthcare experts, including psychologists, social workers and peer workers.

Based at headspace Canberra, this is a fixed term opportunity until 30 June 2025. Part-time, casual and sessional options available. Hours and days are negotiable – we are committed to helping you find your best work life balance!
- Current registration as a General Practitioner with AHPRA
- Vocational Registration and eligibility for a Medicare Provider Number
- Knowledge of youth-friendly practice and understanding of issues relevant to the care of adolescents and young adults and skills in the management of mental health and/or substance use problems in general practice
- Understanding of the role of other allied health professionals in the care of patients with chronic/complex conditions and in the prevention of mental health and substance use problems and chronic diseases
