A part-time position has become available to work for the Royal Flying Doctor Service based in Port Hedland.
Port Hedland is located 1,627km from Perth with a population of around 15,684.
Port Hedland has no shortage of beaches and foreshore to explore, relax or just watch the ships come in.
The Organisation
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) in Western Australia (WA) operates in Perth, Broome, Port Hedland, Kalgoorlie, and Meekatharra. Their mission is to provide excellence in aeromedical and primary health care across WA. Every member of the RFDS team contributes to the mission and living their values of showing respect, demonstrating fairness, utilising diversity and being safe.
Every year, the RFDS provides urgent retrieval for about 10,000 patients in regional Western Australia. A further 10,000 appointments are provided in primary healthcare clinics in remote communities, including general practice, nurse, dental and mental health care.
The Role
Provision of comprehensive routine and emergency general practice care to patients in remote communities and nursing posts.
Provision of shared antenatal care.
Minor procedures within the scope of practice as a General Practitioner.
Provision of contraceptive advice and treatment within the scope of practice of a General Practitioner.
Provision of cervical screening services.
Management of patient health records.
The Requirements
Experienced General Practitioner with a breadth of knowledge and skills in the clinical discipline of general practice.
AHPRA registered, vocationally registered General Practitioner.
Previous experience in indigenous health, emergency experience and completion of ALS.
The Package
$243,469 per annum
Salary packaging up to $15,900 per annum
Partially subsided housing available
Utilities and vehicle are provided however 0.2 of the costs will need to be covered by the employee
