Are you an experienced Geospatial Analystlooking for to stimulating and rewarding opportunity?
Resolve Advisory is partnering with a Commonwealth Government department in their search for a highly skilledGeospatial Analyst. This role will support complex IT project delivery and the day-to-day operations of the department’s geographic information system (GIS) functions. This role will be pivotal in supporting the department in analysing its current processes, recommending best practice solutions, and applying innovative analysis techniques to model results and scenarios.

As a Geospatial Analyst, your key roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating with end-users identify GIS requirements, technical issues and training needs; analysing current business processes and recommend best practice solutions.
  • Troubleshooting geospatial-related matters within the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) domain.
  • Providing technical insights and recommendations regarding spatial data and spatial metadata standards.
  • Offering expert advice on geospatial analysis techniques, GIS analysis tools, and the application of location data within geospatial toolsets.
  • Acting as a conduit between stakeholders and various divisions for appropriate scheduling for software upgrades, patching, and the installation of new software in various environments
  • Creating and maintaining documentation, design specifications, and user guides.
  • Developing strategies for integrating GIS applications with other applications in the EDW environment.
As the Geospatial Analyst, you will ideally possess the following skills and experience:
  • Creating and developing data management design artefacts, including mapping documents for builds that support business processes and objectives.
  • Developing and/or directing the creation of efficient, maintainable, and cost-effective databases.
  • Preparing, creating, and maintaining data management documentation.
  • Experience in the following:
    • SQL for data analysis.
    • Data modelling.
    • Familiarity with various database platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server).
    • XML schema design and experience with ER Studio or similar tools.
    • Understanding of data management principles such as metadata management, data governance, and data quality
