A supportive and prominent Federal Government Department is looking to engage an experienced Geospatial Analyst to engage in work scoping, sourcing, and optimising of data for analysis. The successful Geospatial Analyst will secure a 12 month contract with the option to extend for a further 2 x 12 months aligned with a rewarding hourly rate.
The successful Geospatial Analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Work with end users to identify GIS requirements, technical issues and training needs; analyse current business processes and recommend best practice solutions
- Conduct technical troubleshooting for geospatial related matters arising in the EDW domain and provide technical insight and recommendations regarding spatial data and spatial metadata standards.
- Assist in day-to-day operations of GIS functions in the department, determining geospatial architecture priorities, developing guidance, providing geospatial assistance on project related activities and undertaking troubleshooting analysis and resolution for incidents and where new GIS capability is required.
- Provide support and technical advice regarding geospatial analysis techniques, GIS analysis tools available, and the use of location data with geospatial toolsets available in the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
The successful Geospatial Analyst will have experience in the following:
Demonstrated ability to deliver Geospatial solutions and support through the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile development practices and processes (
Relevant qualifications/certification/accreditation
Experience and knowledge of Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW) and associated technologies (such as Teradata, Informatica, Hadoop, SAS, Cognos, Qlik, Oracle etc.)
Demonstrated ability to query and interpret data using efficient and effective SQL and provide sound advice on complex data/information related matters to deliver quality solutions.
