Using our own modern rigs, Civil Group provides a quality service combining our technical expertise in drilling techniques and solutions. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Geotechnical Driller who is committed to personal development to join our successful delivery team. You will be working on site investigation projects, including major civil infrastructure works in a FIFO role. The successful candidate will be provided with a variety of work experience and be challenged to further develop themselves in the Company.
Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform geotechnical drilling operations to recover samples (soil and rock) as required.
- Conduct inspections of equipment, maintenance, and cleaning of equipment
- Supervise and mentor offsiders
- Record keeping for projects including inductions, daily drilling reports and drill logs
- Safe set up of drill sites and manages controls during drilling operations
- Manages inventory of plant, equipment and materials associated with drilling operations
- Maintaining communication with Supervisor regarding status of drilling activities and related delivery requirements
- Manages and communicate risk associated with drilling operations
- Assists delivering and receiving plant to and from project sites
- Safe and efficient plant movements around project sites
- Works from drawings, specifications and/or verbal instruction
- Participates in a team environment and assisting team members when required
- Other duties consistent with qualifications, skills, and capabilities
Essential Requirements for the Position:
- Demonstrated experience in Geotechnical or Diamond Drilling including safe and efficient operation of drilling equipment, daily inspection, and regular plant maintenance
- Have a high level of safety awareness and excellent understanding of safe operating procedures. Maintain a safe environment by promoting and adhering to the Company's HSEQ standards
- Cert II in Drilling Operations (desirable)
- White Card (Construction Induction Card)
- 'HR' Drivers Licence
- Current First Aid and CPR (preferred)
- The ability to travel for work on a FIFO roster.
- A positive attitude and solid work ethic
- Exceptional health and as this is a physically demanding role you must be physically fit
- Highly motivated and the ability to work independently if required
