Job description

Ready for a change and to work on some exciting projects with a fantastic team!

If you are considering a move and are energised by the prospect of working on some of Australia’s largest and most significant projects - we have an opportunity for you!

At EMM our purpose is to create opportunities for our people, our clients and our communities and our vision is to be the leading Australian consultancy for the natural and built environment. We support our staff’s professional development, provide career path opportunities for them to grow and work on things that interest them.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced GIS Analyst to join our team. As you will be working on projects nationally this position can be based in any of our network of offices across Australia. To be considered for this opportunity you must have between four to ten years’ relevant experience, an outstanding technical background, and experience in environmental consulting.

As a GIS Analyst with EMM, you will work with and be mentored by industry leaders within a highly positive and inclusive organisation. You will be part of a national spatial team that works on a range of projects within the renewables, energy, transport, infrastructure, and mining and extractive industry sectors. If you are committed to delivering outstanding customer service, have a “can do” attitude, mature approach and are looking to create a career (not just a job) you may be our next GIS superstar.

Core to your success in this position will be your ability to demonstrate the following key competencies:

· a degree in geography, environmental science or related discipline;

· between two to ten years relevant GIS experience, ideally gained within an environmental consultancy;

· an outstanding technical background, with a focus on geospatial data;

· an understanding and working knowledge of the ESRI suite of products, including web-mapping and mobile data capture applications;

· experience manipulating data from various software systems;

· demonstrable high-quality cartographic outputs; and

· high level of clear written and oral communication skills.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic individual with the ability to work autonomously on projects but also with the ability to be a key member of the team to ensure the successful delivery of projects. We are seeking a dynamic, curious and motivated professional, who possesses strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with others to achieve positive project outcomes.

To be successful in this position you will demonstrate the following key attributes:

· show initiative and be proactive;

· strong organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple and competing responsibilities;

· robust interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise with the team and all relevant stakeholders;

· a willingness to learn and be mentored;

· be an enthusiastic team player;

· strong work ethic;

· alignment with EMM's values; and

· have a current valid unrestricted drivers’ licence.

Experience with or a keen interest in additional spatial industry skills – such as programming, remote sensing and modelling – would be received favourably.

EMM is committed to promoting fairness, equity and diversity in its workplace. We understand that everyone’s personal circumstances vary and recognise the importance of offering flexibility in working arrangements for our people. We offer the ability to purchase additional annual leave, promote flexible work hours and foster working from home arrangements to ensure that we attract and retain a diverse and dynamic workforce.

EMM is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from people with different backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds and people with disabilities.
