Overview: Our large government client is seeking experienced ESRI GIS Specialists x2 (NV1 and NV2) based in Canberra ACT. The Enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS) is a distributed information management system multiple network domains comprising ArcGIS Desktop and Server applications deployed across multiple sites. There are multiple technical systems within the Enterprise GIS with unique configurations to support business specific GIS workflows from data production through to dissemination. Our client requires two full-time professional services consultants to work under limited direction and be responsible for customer engagement, business development and documentation of functional and non-functional requirements. The roles require specific experience with Esri capabilities for a period of at least 5 years. The successful applicant will proactively engage GIS users regarding best practices for tool usage, data integration, transformation, optimisation, management and dissemination using geospatial data and services across multiple networks and sites. Key deliverables:
Provide assistance to GIS stakeholders and support to the GIS Operations Team by responding to GIS Service Desk enquiries in a timely manner.
Be a primary engagement officer with all users of ArcGIS Enterprise Deployment.
Provide best practice advice and support for GIS patterns and workflows within both ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Enterprise.
Engage with GIS stakeholders to develop and maintain communication channels.
Consult with stakeholders to gain a business perspective and understanding of their GIS business requirements.
Advise on the collection, development and maintenance of spatial data requirements and enhance customer service experience.
Advise in the development and delivery of high quality GIS products and other spatial services to meet business and stakeholder needs.
Under broad direction, design and create learning and development materials and resources to assist customers in the understanding and use of the Enterprise GIS.
Under broad direction, develop plans and implement processes and engagement activities to assist the user community to adopt and integrate the components of the Enterprise GIS into their business processes to improve their outputs, taking into consideration all aspects of the business including data, IT and training requirements.
Support the organisation and negotiation of enterprise software agreements where required.
Assist to diagnose GIS service delivery problems and implement procedures to continually and proactively improve the operation of the Enterprise GIS.
Document and update business operations materials to adhere to accreditation and best practices of the Enterprise GIS.
Provide assistance with the regular renewal of the Esri Enterprise Agreement as directed.
Skills and Experience
At least 5 years demonstrated experience with data, map and application configuration and deployment in ArcGIS Enterprise.
Demonstrated GIS skills and experience in management of spatial data.
Demonstrated experience using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise.
Demonstrated understanding and experience with Esri Web Services, ArcGIS Enterprise and other related spatial services.
Desirable:
Demonstrated experience in producing maps for a general (ie. non-technical) audience
Esri certification in one or more of the following:
ArcGIS Desktop Associate and/or Professional
Enterprise Geodata Management
Other ResponsibilitiesThe expectation that the specified personnel may be required to be ‘on-call’ and available to work outside of regular hours at short notice, notably during critical business activities.
Location of work: Canberra, ACT Length of contract: April 2024 – April 2025 with extension options available upon business funds availability (2x12 mths).
