About the role :-

AGOs Enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS) is a distributed information management system multiple network domains comprising ArcGIS Desktop and Server applications deployed across multiple sites. There are multiple technical systems within AGOs Enterprise GIS with unique configurations to support business specific GIS workflows from data production through to dissemination.

As part of AGO, GIS Operations maintains and operates multiple technical systems with unique configurations to support business specific GIS workflows from data production through to dissemination. These systems require professional support to engage with users regarding best practice and to facilitate operations across Defence. These practices are required to be documented and communicated effectively with users across multiple domains.

C4I Solutions requires twofull-time professional services consultants to work under limited direction and be responsible for customer engagement, business development and documentation of functional and non-functional requirements. The roles require specific experience with ESRI capabilities.

The successful applicant will proactively engage GIS users regarding best practices for tool usage, data integration, transformation, optimisation, management and dissemination using geospatial data and services across multiple networks and sites.

Role Responsibilities:-

• Provide assistance to GIS stakeholders and support to the GIS Operations Team by responding to GIS Service Desk enquiries in a timely manner.
• Be a primary engagement officer with all users of AGOs ArcGIS Enterprise Deployment.
• Provide best practice advice and support for GIS patterns and workflows within both ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Enterprise.
• Engage with GIS stakeholders to develop and maintain communication channels.
• Consult with stakeholders to gain a business perspective and understanding of their GIS business requirements.
• Advise on the collection, development and maintenance of spatial data requirements and enhance customer service experience.
• Advise in the development and delivery of high quality GIS products and other spatial services to meet business and stakeholder needs.
• Under broad direction, design and create learning and development materials and resources to assist AGOs customers in the understanding and use of the Enterprise GIS.
• Under broad direction, develop plans and implement processes and engagement activities to assist the user community to adopt and integrate the components of the Enterprise GIS into their business processes to improve their outputs, taking into consideration all aspects of the business including data, IT and training requirements.
• Support the organisation and negotiation of enterprise software agreements where required.
• Assist to diagnose GIS service delivery problems and implement procedures to continually and proactively improve the operation of the Enterprise GIS.
• Document and update business operations materials to adhere to accreditation and best practices of the Enterprise GIS.
• Provide assistance with the regular renewal of the Esri Enterprise Agreement as directed.
• The expectation that personnel may be required to be on-call and available to work outside of regular hours at short notice, notably during critical business activities.

Skills & Experience :-

• At least 5 years demonstrated experience with data, map and application configuration and deployment in ArcGIS Enterprise.
• Demonstrated GIS skills and experience in management of spatial data.
• Demonstrated experience using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise.
• Demonstrated understanding and experience with Esri Web Services, ArcGIS Enterprise and other related spatial services.
• Desirable: Demonstrated experience in producing maps for a general (ie. non-technical) audience

Desirable: Esri certification in one or more of the following:

• ArcGIS Desktop Associate and/or Professional
• Enterprise Geodata Management

Preferred: Knowledge and/or experience in:

• Defence use of ArcGIS and its customer set;
• Defence Intelligence business processes

Preferred: Esri Certification in one of more of the following:

• ArcGIS Desktop Associate and/or Professional
• Enterprise Geodata Management; and
• Enterprise Administration.

Additional Information:-

• Specified Personnel must sign non-disclosure agreement related to the project and/or program of work.
• Domestic travel as required.
• The expectation that the specified personnel may be required to be on-call and available to work outside of regular hours at short notice, notably during critical business activities.
• Candidates for these positions will be required to undertake a Defence Intelligence Suitability Assessment (DISA).
