We are looking for a casual or part time graphics/GIS assistant with a keen interest in archaeology. The tasks required will initially include but not be restricted to:
- The presentation of cartographic pictorial mapping for heritage reports.
- The Collection of Digital GIS data for and from fieldwork activities and for issue to relevant parties.
- Maintenance and update spatial data, ensuring quality and accuracy of the data.
- Translation of GIS data between different formats and coordinate systems.
- Enhance GIS support in areas of cultural heritage management.
Successful applicants will have:
- Basic skills and knowledge/experience with Cad programs and QGIS. Knowledge of DGPS equipment would also be of benefit.
- Skills in cartographic presentation of pictorial mapping for heritage reports.
- Basic skills and knowledge in using desktop Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for map production and analysis, and mapping applications for field data collection.
- Strong communication skills, and a collaborative nature.
Successful applicants will receive specific internal training to assist with the role and knowledge integration into the Company’s procedures.
