The role

The Global Supply Chain Program Manager will lead Saab Australia’s GSCP to achieve contractual performance indicators through effective engagement between Saab, other industry participants and the Commonwealth, identifying and facilitating Supply Chain and development opportunities for Australian industry globally. The successful incumbent will be managing the GSCP team as well as relationships with Saab entities overseas.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Hold overall responsibility for management of Saab Australia’s GSCP plan, activities, reporting, performance and measurement of ROI in line with contracted deliverables
  • Collaborate with other GSCP Primes and government agencies to promote Australian suppliers, increase development opportunities for Australian industry (such as export and cyber readiness) and identify ways to increase efficiencies
  • Develop and maintain the Stakeholder Communication and Engagement Plan (SC&EP) and work effectively with marketing communication teams to implement the plan and measure success (including the Saab web site, supplier portal and Industry Capability Network portal where required with the Head of Industry Engagement and Major Events)
  • Forge collaborative and trusting relationships with key stakeholders from all GSCP participants including the Commonwealth, Defence and industry organisations, Saab global entities and Australian suppliers
  • Work with the Head of Supply Chain to manage and continuously improve business-to-business processes to ensure that clear, documented processes inform the various stakeholder engagement activities required across the GSCP enterprise

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and 9 day fortnight will be considered for this role.

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Project Management experience 
  • Understanding of Australian contract law principles
  • Understanding of contractual requirements of large multi-discipline projects in an engineering, construction or Defence environment
  • Experience in a commercial environment including contract preparation, administration and management of contractual relationships
  • Experience in leading a high performing team.

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to baseline level or have the ability to gain one.
